Es gibt nicht viel, das ich aktuell so feiere wie das Lukah-Album Why Look Up, God’s In The Mirror. Wer das Album des Mannes aus Memphis nicht kennt, dem sei es wärmstens ans Herz gelegt. Auf Dauerschleife in meiner Karre läuft derzeit Glasshouses mit seinem minimalistisch-bedrohlichen Beat und maximalen Wirkungstreffern in den Lyrics: A lot going on, y’all just can’t read about / They ain’t gon‘ write the truth in the papers, you got to seek it out / the poor and the children are starving and have to be without / but they won’t make a trip to the hood, they take the scenic route.
Die letzten Releases von Lukah erschienen übrigens auf dem Dortmunder Label FXCK RXP. Dort und auf Bandcamp sind aktuell leider alle Platten von Lukah ausverkauft, aber HHV hat noch ein paar Exemplare von Why Look Up… auf Lager, die hier bestellt werden können.
