Fast genau sagenhafte 14 Jahre ist es her, dass ich den Artikel Deadly Venoms – die vergessenen Wu-Tang Ladies hier veröffentlichte. Eine der sträflich vernachlässigten MCs der Truppe war Champ MC, deren Solo Ghetto Flava 1994 trotz Major-Deals nur auf CD und Tape erschien. Nun ist es endlich neu aufgelegt worden, und zwar von – man ahnt es – 90’s Tapes, die ihren Ruf als No.-1-Reissue-Label mit diesem Release weiter ausbauen. Das Album bringt das Beste beider Küsten zusammen: Roughe Eastcoast-Beats, smoothen Westcoast-Funk, ein Feature von Yo-Yo und Produktionen von Pete Rock, CMT & E-A-Ski, Agallah (aka 8-Off) u.a. sammeln sich auf den Tape- bzw. Vinylseiten, die East und West betitelt wurden. Und Champ MC zerlegt ohnehin alles und jeden, der sich ihr in den Weg stellt.
